You are creating a 3D scene. You modeled your objects and you start creating materials. You apply one texture to an object and do a test render. You adjust the material in the Material Editor and do another testrender. You adjust the mapping and do another test render. You add a light and do a test render.

You adjust the material in the Material Editor and do another testrender. You adjust the mapping and do another test render. You add a light and do a test render. Mmmmm you need to adjust the shadow. Another test render. Ok, now you need to create all other materials, apply them - test renders- adjust them - test renders -and probably add more lights - more test renders. Did you find a pattern here, somewhere. Could it be... the test renders. They are a necessary evil. Sure, only a full render can show things like bumpmaps, displacement maps, reflections, refractions, shadows, etc. But it takes time to calculate all that, even if only a small window is rendered. Several 3D applications have a small thumbnailrendered preview (for instance, Brice) or a floating rendered area (forinstance, SoftImage XSI) that updates in near-realtime. Any change made to the scene, automatically reflects in the rendered preview. Until now, in C4D, the only options were to render a smaller window or just a portion of the scene. But it is never automatic. Well, it WASN'T. Now we have SniperPro. It provides a near-realtime render inside a scalablewindow. Now you can adjust any aspect of your scene and get an instant preview of the final outcome.
